SUMMER
Colour, fragrance, texture, abundance…
nothing shouts summer like the sweetness of melons…
Melon in Monbazillac with cured ham
one sweet Charentais melon, cut into balls
1 small glass of Monbazillac or other white dessert wine
slices of cured ham
chives or spring onions to garnish
Toss the melon balls in the sweet wine and chill for at least two hours
When ready to serve, spoon the melon balls into dish and pour over a little of the wine
Top with torn ham and garnish with chives or spring onions
serve chilled to start a meal on a wonderful summers evening
